There are so many website builders and platforms out there and the options are growing by the day! So how do you know which one is the right fit for you?
The truth is, the best website platform for you varies based on your specific wants and needs. This is something I tell all of my website clients. Everything will have a learning curve and if something is unfamiliar or new, it will take time for you to learn and be comfortable with that new thing (in this case, a website platform). Though website platforms aren’t one-size-fits-all, we’ve found one that checks all of our boxes (and our clients agree!).
Our preferred website platform of choice is ShowIt. 🥳
Some of the most frequently-used website platforms are Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy, and WordPress. The most common reason we hear for why a past client was running their site on one of these platforms is because it is just “what they knew how to use” even though they weren’t completely satisfied with their web experience. After using all of the above platforms, we have looked at several different criteria in order to pick the best website platform.
Here are the six reasons why I recommend the ShowIt platform for your service-based business:
It is hands down the easiest platform to use. No coding is required unless you are installing widgets, but it’s pretty much just copy and pasting! Whatever design you are able to dream up, you should be able to recreate in ShowIt. Yay for no more waiting for a developer to make your website dreams come true. As you are getting to know the platform, you can choose from hundreds of pre-made templates or customize your design from scratch.
One of the reasons many people like ShowIt is because of their massive library of beautifully-designed websites. You can literally apply your branding to the template, switch out content, and voila, your website can be live in minutes! As a web designer, the ability to create a design from scratch to match our clients’ approved wireframes is a godsend. ShowIt is always working on improving the platform so that our creations in softwares like Adobe are all possible in ShowIt.
With ShowIt, you have the capability to design your desktop and mobile websites independently of each other. This means that you have control over how your websites look separately on the desktop and mobile version. Maybe you don’t want this image to show on your mobile version? You can hide it on mobile with just a click of a button. This pro is huge because more users are viewing websites on their phones now — making your website even more mobile friendly! 😉
Getting to utilize the #1 blogging platform should catch your attention! Can you imagine a beautifully designed website AND blog?! This also means you get the flexibility of better search engine optimization (SEO) capabilities so you can get more visibility on the web. If you have existing blogs on a different platform, the ShowIt team will migrate them for you when you subscribe to a plan that includes a blog.
ShowIt makes it super easy for you to implement your meta descriptions, page titles, and alt tags on your images and pages. A feature that also helps with your SEO in ShowIt is the ability to assign your text tags. Generally, we only want one H1 tag on each page. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, drop a DM on Instagram and let’s chat! We include all of the above in our website design service to ensure our clients are set up for success in terms of SEO.
Need I say more? The ShowIt Support Team is known for its outstanding customer service. Whenever you find yourself struggling with ANYTHING, you can simply hit the chat button and they’ll get back to you ASAP. They also have an amazing Facebook group where you can join to get tips and insights about your ShowIt website. Seasoned ShowIt users often help the posters who need help with troubleshooting.
